building your history

RESIDENTIAL × Public × REstoration

Scott Harrop, president and principal architect, is a graduate of the University of Tennessee School of Architecture and an active member of the American Institute of Architects, the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and the East Tennessee Historical Society.

Scott performed a variety of roles during his 16 years at his previous architecture firm, but concentrated on the creative and design-focused efforts for all project types. He worked specifically on a large percentage of the firm's custom home and renovation projects from initial client meeting through construction completion.

Creative.  Thoughtful.  Collaborative.  Engaging.  Thorough.  These are just a few words that can describe the process of working with C. S. Harrop Architects.  The passion, enthusiasm and spirit of teamwork we bring to each project is apparent in our process.

Every client is unique. Every site is unique. Each are deserving of all the attention required to create a truly special place.

First, we listen. We absorb everything we can about our clients' goals, ideas and thoughts, the way you live and the things you love. These are the first key ingredients for success. We visit the building site as soon as possible, to walk the land and learn its contours. We study the neighborhood as a living environment and community.

Our aim is to preserve and honor the sense of place and allow it to inform and enrich the space we create for you.

"Everything about our process is collaborative. We begin with your vision and prepare a space that embodies it.”
—Scott Harrop

Together we will develop a design concept that fulfills the goals, requirements and vision of your project. This process is fun, loose, engaging and, most importantly, inspiring.
